Can you prove it?

Just look at the complexity of something as small as a leaf. Do you realy thing all everything just began as a cosmic accedent? We have to believe. We have to have faith. With out it what hope do we have. If there are no lasting peniliys for our actions what keeps us from anarchey.

Faith in GOD is all the proof one needs.

Religion is a belief and is not based on a fact structure. There isn't a way to prove it.

OK Skolie. Why do so many people believe in something when there is absolutely no proof. I have not seen any other instance where so many people belive in a particular thing.

Does anybody ever think about the fact that the chuches held absolute power wnd control over the people. Anybody that spoke ill of the church and its teachings were tortured and beaten into submission. That led to everyone quoting the company line to avoid the "conversion" of non believers.

What do you think parents taught there kids? They passed the story along to protect there kids.

This was a loaded question to begin with because in the millions of years of human existence, there has been no credible scientific proof of the existence of god. What; did you think someone is concealing the real truth and would reveal it to you on this site?

Religion is based on faith. Period. If you want to know "why" people turn myths into religion, read a few of Joseph Campbell's books. Many colleges offer courses based on his studies.

I concur, it is a loaded question to begin with, and there have been countless wars over this, and that my God is the right God and your God is the false God.

There is no physical proof that there is a God. Also, which God do you mean, the Christian God? The Islamic Allah? Buddha? what about one of the Paganist Gods? Are you looking to find out which one God is the correct God?

The closest thing to prove I've seen on that is the South Park episode where Saddam goes to Hell, where they find that the Mormon was the correct religion.

That is why faith is used so much. because you can't prove it. You have to have faith to believe that there is a God, usually the one that you believe in.

What about the other side of it. Can you prove that God doesn't exist? You can't prove it that way either.

That is why people are allowed to believe whatever they believe. And I tend to believe that whatever they believe is true and correct and right for them.

No one can prove to you that there is a God. I know He exists because I am living proof. Some people may state that I have nine lives like a cat o that I am accident prone. Not so. I have been run over by a car, been in 3 other near fatal wrecks and I had a gas stove explode in my face. I am still here. I have a personal relationship with Jesus. That is how I know. My last car wreck, Jan 07 I was hit from behind by an 18 wheeler, my car hit the guardrail, and I was slingshotted back under his rig. During the entire experience, NEVER once was I afraid to die. I know where I am going. I face everyday with a sense of peace that is beyond understanding. This does not come from me but God and God alone. This response was logical and well put. It explains why humans need to have a higher power. Ancients Greeks would have been really ticked off if you tried to discredit there Gods. Now they are a novelty for Disney cartoons. The great poet Rob Zombie put it best, "We all bow down to the God of the moment"
