What is your best small world moment?

I had one of my best small world moments this last weekend at a wedding of a girl I've known for like at least 8 years.

I'm sitting in the back of the church at the wedding, and I see a couple I have known for about 2.5 years in front of me, I wave. My friend in front of me sees me and does the exicted wave back, then her whole face changed to the WTF are you doing here look.

Turns out, she was the college roommate for 3 years with the girl who got married that day. In the 2.5 years or so that we have known each other we had no idea we had a common frient, but we also met in a totally unrelated mannor.

The entire rest of the day, people were finding it funny that we happen to know each other.

So that is one of my best small world moments of my life.

I have to admit, this goes back years ago, but still hold true today. This story is remembered everytime I think of women today trying to "fit-it-all in". When my son was very young 2ish in age, I attended our local university. I had very long days. He spent days with Grandma and would usually watch the local PBS channel. One day they were watching a group of ducks on a pond, he got all excited and told Grandma about them. She asked the usual questions to strike up a learning experience-like who is swimming, he would reply, "The Daddy duck, and the baby duck and the baby duck and the baby duck." She was very curious, where's the mommy duck? He replied, "At SIU!"

Well, it was a great story for Grandma, but as Mom, my heart sank. I will always remember that story. He is much older. But in my mind, I still see those ducks.
