Depends on what you use it for. Electric is quiet, powerful and reliable. Gas doesn't need to be plugged in to keep going but you had better hade a degree in small engine repair if you get gas model. There will always be problems with it. My wife uses hers to ride through our woods. It is so quiet it doesn't disturb the animals.
