Population of the US - persons and dogs?

Please tell me the population of the US, total amount of people.

I also want to know the total population of the US in dogs? Where can i find the total number of dogs in the US -- or at least an estimate?

does any organization collect this information? Even if this data is a few years old, i would like to know how many dogs are in the US.

There are currently 303,475,356 people that live in the United States according to the most recent census. There are 6,634,084,985 people in the world, so the US contains about 5% of the worlds population.

It appears that the US has more dogs than any other country! 61 million. Here is a link to a map that shows the top 10 nations for having the most dogs:
