Upset year in college football

This has been THE year of college football upsets. With the exception of the amazing run of Hawaii who has gone 12-0 this year beating Washington, if you have been ranked 1-2 or sometimes 3, you lost that weekend.

Missouri lost to Oklahoma today in the big 12
West Virgina lost to Pittsburgh today

Who is going to be 1 2 after this.

LSU. Again?
Ohio State. Again?

Does Hawaii have an outside chance?

I really have no idea who would be number 1. It could really be anyone.

Bump.

Turns out the title game is going to be between LSU and Ohio st. What a crazy way for them both to end up playing for the national title.

Hawaii finished out the year top 10 in the rankings.

Yeah - we watched the BCS selections last night. On a similar topic, anyone else see the BCS as unecesarry? How about an 8-game tournament?

The BCS is a joke. every year they try and fix it, and it breaks in some new unknown way.

I would be all for a Div 1A football tourney. The best team in the nation may not be ranked 1 or 2 right now. just like Hawaii should have a shot at Number 1.

But.. that would get rid of a bunch of the bowl games on dec 30, 31 and jan 1 that rake in all the sponership advertising dollars.

Being unbeaten, Hawaii should be in the top 10 - they shouldn't be penalized just because they're a WAC team.

This season begs for a playoff with so many teams in the hunt. College presidents don't want a playoff, so it will probably never happen. The current system offers way more revenues for college football as a whole.

Yeah, I agree. There is to much money in the current system and it is a shame that Hawaii never was in the running for #1 even though they were the only undefeated team in College Football this year.

Maybe this will be yet another wake up call for the BCS and its system.

No surprises this year. A few upsets during the season, but in the end LSU went pretty much wire-to-wire to end up in the National Championship game. Most had USC vs. LSU - I had TX vs. LSU.

BCS got it close to right, there are some lackluster matchups (as there are every year). No one really thought that UH would play for the national title - their sched was just too weak. I love the UH story this season but they will be exposed against Georgia.
