We have a 29 gallon aquarium and a 10 gallon. We've had the 10 gallon much longer however, we have nothing but problems with dying fish. We are getting neurotic with always testing the water making sure everything is perfect and it usually is. We

Probably do water changes more than necessary. We add a little salt, we treat the water for chlorine, etc. We have guppies, had an amazing betta, chinese algae eaters, mollys and baby mollys. It doesn't happen right away. Seems like out of the blue. The betta looked liked he got a swollen eye trauma and died later in the day. Our guppies seem to get stressed for no apparent reason, or live quite well. We lost one of three baby mollys after weeks of thriving. Getting frustrated and sad. It is a fresh water tank. Any suggestions?

It could also be the combination of fish. Until you can rule out everything, get just one type of fish. You obviously care for the water - but why do you add salt if this is a freshwater tank?

Have you tried adding a stress coat to the water? You can buy stress coat at your local per store.

It really isn't any better than other answers. Any information is valuable. How do I respond to the question within the answer?
