Why does my Briggs lawn mower starter gear keep breaking in two?

I replaced starter gear since it broke in two. After a couple of start the starter ger was broken again. Why?

Why does my Briggs lawn mower starter gear keep breaking in two? The big turn starter wheel or the starter gear that connects to it is way out of line and grabbing teeth some way and this needs to be lined back up before replacing this again and someway this is getting in a turned position and causeing the pressure to break this and you should take this to a shop for help.
