1096 Package
My husband received a Package 1096 from the IRS. We have no idea what this is. He plays in a band but at the end of the year all 1099 are taken to an accountant and split into 6 different 1099 forms for all band members. Why are we receiving the
1096 package. What do we need to do.

You received the 1096 package from the IRS because the band has issues 1099-misc or other similar type forms out. They probably hired contractors for temp work, some professional work, maybe rent for band space, etc.
The 1096 will reflect all of the 1099 forms that they have issues throughout the year.
