Self employment taxes making less then $10,000 last year

If i have worked and made under 10,000 being self employed and have not yet paid the taxes in is there anyway i will be able to break even? i am head of household and total provider for my son who attends college. i also work related expenses phone, gas, uniforms etc. i use to receive large amounts of money back from the irs when i had a regular job where deductions were taken from my checks. i am not familiar how the 1099 form works since it is my first time.

Is this your only job that you have? Do you have any other income to report besides this?

You have to file because you are self employed and you did make more then the minimum to file.
