Child tax credits

My husband and I just had our first child in September, and we are wondering how he will fit in when we file our taxes. I know that there is a child tax credit of $1000 per child, but I was doing research online and I thought that I read something about a credit of $3300 for any child living in the home that is under 18 and does not bring in their on income. Was I misreading this information?

Sorry, I'm not sure where you read that. As far as I know it is $1000 per child under 17:
