Claiming neice as a depentant

In Oct 2007 I was awarded leagal guardianship of my 14 year old neice but she began living with me in June of 2007. Am I able to claim her as a dependant on my 2007 taxes, and what happens if I claim her and her mother claims her?

You should be able to claim her since she would have been with you for more then half the year

if her mom claims her, you fight her and you will win.
