My daughter had emergancy custody of her 3 girls on April 6th 2007 with supervised visitation to the dad. They were never married. but he thretened to take off with the girls. So I paid for a lawyer to get custody. He is on drugs and tried to hurt my daughter because of his temper. He shoved her backward in the recliner she was sitting in with the baby in her arms. They only lived together in 2007 from Febuary 3rd to the the middle or last of March a little under 2 months. January 2008 He claimed 2 of the girls on his income taxes, he did not pay any child support during that whole time. She and the Girls moved in with me and her stepdad till she could get her own place which was in August. what can she do. They will not let my daughter hold the girls now. She tried to file and it was rejected. She really could have used the money but the deadbeat dad is going to get by with taking money from his kids again please help. She now has full custody of the girls. since Febuary 7th with an order for child support. There is nothing keeping him from doing this every year. He has the girls's ss#'s. She would have gotten back quite a bit but now she will not, because of him. She was going to let me and her stepdad hold one of the girls on our taxes for helping her out. They lived with us all of January, April, May June July and part of Aug. the rest of time only with her. He was always out for a free ride. Please what can she do.

You have to have the girls 6 mos and be the major support if anytime that the welfare system paid no one can claim the children. but you have to show proof who had the girls for 6 mos straight and supported them then that person can claim if the father claims the girls on the earn income but has not supported the girls 6 mos then he is defrauding the gov. all you have to do is call irs and they well investigate.
Go to www.irs.gov and you can get your answer it will show you
