I haven't worked all year due to being a full time student, but i have received child support, can i still file a tax return since i pay for child care?

The credit that exists for child care is based on your income and your tax liability. No taxable income --> no tax liability --> no credit ==> not worth filing a tax return.

Child support is not reportable (or taxable) income. Most credits available are based on having some kind of taxable income, some require "earned" income.

Now, if you're also drawing unemployment, my answer would be different ...
