Do you get your tax return faster if you file your taxes with a tax service online?

I want to use my tax return to go to Cancun for Spring Break next year. Do you get your return faster if you go to a tax accountant, mail your tax forms in yourself or file your taxes online?

You get it faster if you file online whether you do it yourself or the accountant does it. If you really want it fast there are places that will give you money up front if you sign your return over to them. You pay a lot for that though.

I use turbo tax, always get a great return, and the following year, all your info is already entered in the system for you, so its incredibly fast!

TaxSlayer.com is a great site to use. Turbo Tax is also very good. Both are very user friendly and secure. You will get your tax return faster by going on either of these two sites because they will direct deposit your return to your bank account. State taxes usually get returned fast as well even if you mail them in.

However, if you have a tax lien against you or anything else like that then your return will take longer regardless of how you send it it.

Ultimately, if you mail it in it will only take a few days longer. The difference is what ever amount of time it takes for it to get to where its going in the mail. As long as it is direct deposited after you file for your return (whether by mail or not) that is the fastest way to go. If you request a hard check from the IRs then it will take another few days due to the mail to get to you.

Hope this helps!
