I owe 16,000.00 ...HELP

I did my taxes and due to early withdraw of pension money i owe too much.I paid the penalty fees and i was left with little or no choice due to separtion of wife.I paid off my mortgage loan so that i could live with kids and be able to afford it.Is there anything i can do to lessen the amount or extend payment for a period of time?

You should hire a tax accountant or CPA to do your taxes for you. They understand tax laws and might be able to find additional deductions for you, saving you a lot of money. You can hire one for a couple hundred dollars. H&R block might not be the best, I'd find a local accountant through the phone book.

If you owe $16,000 you can do installment plan to pay it off with the IRS, but you will owe monthly fees that could add up to a bunch of money, but it is an option for situations like these.
