Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately

My wife and I were married in November 2007. I'm employed with a state agency and my taxes are deducted from my salary automatically. I earn approximately 30k per year. My wife is a self-employed massage therapist so no taxes have been deducted from her salary. She earns approximately 32k per year. She still owes over 5k to the IRS for 2006. How should we file? Jointly or Separately?

Its designed to be pretty much a wash as to whether you file jointly or separately. Run the numbers both ways if you want to be sure, but its probably easier to file jointly.
