My 22 year old son lost his leg, can i claim him as a disabled dependent and does he have any credits or special deductions that I may be missing

My son is 22 he lost his leg.7/22/07. I claimed him as a dependent on my taxes. he made adj. gross income of 30,000. does he get any tax credits for being disabled?

Why did you claim him as a dependent? He is 22, when did he start to live with you? He would have had to live with you for at least 6 months during the year and you would have had to pay for more than 50% of his living needs and he made over the amount of money to be claimed as a dependent. Yes there are credits for disabled people. I think you should get ahold of a legal tax person and have everything looked at, as you may need to refile your taxes.
