She can make the payments for you now but she she wasn't on the loan when you 1st got it so you could put her on the deed by she not on the loan so no.. not in my state though... burt to get around that is to Refinance. i wouldnt do that tought I would get marry 1st then do so .. good luck

Can someone not on the mortgage make the monthly payment and take the write-off?
Can someone not on the mortgage (but on the deed) make the monthly payment and take the write-off?
Specifically, we are an unmarried couple. I was laid off my job and I'm the only one on the mortgage and the deed right now. If I add my girlfriend to the deed (which I want to do anyway) and she makes the payments can she take the write-off?
