I am receiving medical retirement from department of defense. Is the income subject to georgia state tax? Please advise.

Also, i received funds from my federal thrift savings account. Are these funds subject to georgia state tax?

This type of income is not taxed, up to a maximum of $30,000 per person. Amounts above that it are taxed. I believe interest is taxable.

Actually no, it is not taxable, medical retirement pay and VA disability pay are tax exempt.
