My ex owes me $10000 in back child support and recently married. He filed his taxes late but separte from his wife. How long does it take to recieve

How long will it take to recieve my funds because he filed late and he is newly married . Although they did not file taxes together can she still fill for a injured spousal support?

Dpending on if he electronically or mailed the return in. If he electronically filed the IRS would acknowledge it within 72 hours...........................mailed in they might not acknowledge it for 3 to 4 weeks.

Then of course the IRS"S contact with Child Support enforcement...................it will take alittle time...........I wouldn't write any checks on the assumption I could cover them real soon anyway.

A bit sarcastic, but know how slow the government can be.....................

They legally can file together and his new spouse file the injured spouse form.....................either way her eligible refund will have nothing to do with your ex's debt.
