Tax deduction for spouse

Hi,

If I get married to my fiance before Jan 1, 2009, is there a tax deduction for her. One thing though, she is just here from the Philippines. Does she need a Social Security number and is any of the expenses to bring her here deductible.

Thanks

Yes she needs a ss number..........................you can always file for it and do an ammended return after you know what her number is.......no moving expenses would be deductable unless you can prove she moved here due to job related issues. That clearly isn't the case as there is not a ss number for her
