Who's responsible for mobile home property taxes?

Bought mobile home in one county in Texas. Immediately moved mobile home to another county after purchase. Now receiving property tax statement from county where we purchased the mobile home. We called the tax office and they said we were responsible. We never had the moble home in that county...other than waiting for it to be moved. We contacted the seller and told he we did not agree to pay for taxes when we purched the mobile home from him.

Was there taxes on the contract that you signed when you paid for it?

did you live in this county too at all?

There was not a contract. We answered an ad...mobile home for sale. Paid cash. We did not live in the county the mobile home was purchased in.
