Ref Stimulus Check, I received $600.00 I filed

2007 claiming 3 dependents, one 18 the other 12 and myself
I am 72, however, I earned $9,000.00 and thought I would
receive $300.00 for my 12 year old granddaughter. Should I pursue
this? thank you.

That sounds right. Chances are you didn't have enough tax liability to earn the full $600 for yourself, so what you did earn is probably $300 for you and $300 for the 12 year old, as the 18 year old is not elagable for the child credit.

I wouldn't pursue it, since you wouldn't be getting anymore then that. the problem is that the IRS said $600 per person, but that fine print says, $600 only if you made enough money, and not everyone does.

Please clarify tax liability. I thought if you worked you received 600. automatically, and if you
did not 300.

That is not how it works. you got paid a minimum of $300, but no more then $600, and you had to pay enough in federal taxes to get that full $600.

what tax liability is how much you actually paid in taxes. You might have a job that pays you, but after like a house deduction, and maybe 1-2 kids which are more deductions, then whatever else you can deduct that is reducing how much you have to pay in taxes. so chances are, that after all those types of deductions you didn't make enough to qualify for the full $600.
