Ok, if she claimed her for 2006, then she filed them in 2007, if her husband claims for 2007 he files them this year, 2008, so however you want to put it, it just looks to me like when she says "Last year 2006 i claimed her this year 2007 he claims her" that she claimed her when she filed her taxes in 2007 which is 2006's taxes. Now you are confussing me to LOL

See, thats it now you both totally lost me, last year was 2007, this year is 2008, unless your talking taxes, then its 2006, and 2007 arghhh, my brain, either way LOL whoever claimed her last gets the rebate, and yes, I agree, it would be a good idea since this is a one time rebate to split it with each other.
