How much was i soposed to get back on my state ,for 2006?

My question is,i did my taxes on 2007,for the year that i worked on 2006,i went to a public notary near my home.He told me that for the state i only would get back $65.00 because i did more than$ 21.000,i went along, and got it done. But something was weird about that.So i would like if someone can help me and send me info on how much i was sopposedto get back on my state check. For the year that i worked of 2006.?i tried calling trenton but its imposible, the wait.

Why were you getting your taxes done by the public notary?

it is really hard to tell you how much you should have gotten back because it depends on how much you made, how much you paid in taxes, what deductions you had, etc etc.

you would have to refile your taxes for 2006 in order to get a proper refund if you were indeed owed a refund bigger then $65

I still have my folder,i showed it to someone who does taxes, and she told me that i was sopposed to get $400 or $500,and she also said that the papers that man gave me werent enough,in other words that the state info paper work is missing.i tried calling the IRS but i thought i was going to pass out, waiting to speak to a live operator.lol ,they should have files of how much i made.I also have mine.
