Single prop. business but did not keep records

A family member attempted to start his own business but failed to keep records of income or expenses. The income can be tracked thru bank records but the expenses were not tracked. How can he file?

You don't need the receipts to file. You only need them if you get questioned on what you are claiming. So make a good faith estimate that you can defend if need be and file accordingly.
