Taxes on my babysitter's pay?

My daughter's babysitter makes over a $1000 a month and she said she is keeping track of her pay and planning on filing taxes on it as a self employed person at the end of the year and paying her taxes that way- Does this affect me or do I have to pay anything or file anything as an employer as well?

Since the babysitter considers herself self-employed, you cannot be her employer, and you have no tax obligation toward her.
At the end of the year, she should provide you with a statement showing how much you paid her, as well as her name and tax ID. Then you might be eligible for a Dependent Care Credit (see Form 2441 for more about eligibility).

I would keep a record of what I paid her and send her a 1099income form. Yrou have to send anybody a 1099 who you pay over $ 600.00 in any one year.
