Donations

I have a small deli and I frequently give away meals and hams to schools, fire departments, hospitals and fund raisers. Can I deduct these on my tax return as a donation?

Thank you!

Ruth

Yes you can, as non cash deduction, but you need to keep a record of these times, & usually it is not the full amt of meal, but the amount of the cost of the food you donated. ex: a grilled cheese & soup meal cost $3, but the actual food was only $1 that u donated.
