IRS Partnership F-1065 Schedule L, line 9a and 9b for beginning and ending year figure

For the 1st time, I'm trying to file the US Partnership Income.
Everything is mostly understandable, but I got confused and stuck on one small area.

On Form 1065, Schedule-L, Line 9a and 9b, column a,b,c,and d, the value of 9a,column 'a'
should be equal to line 9a column 'c', or should it be different by reducing the amount depreciated in the prev.year?

Sound dumb?

I know It is dumb question, I can not find anywhere in IRS website, nor on the internet.

Thank you in advance for easy answer.......

Dumb Preparer....
