Does your organization have all the proper 501(c)(3) stuff set up?

You may be tax exempt if your organization is set up like that. If you have a tax guy I would ask him first though.

Be careful here. A group I belonged to filed as a non-profit in the State of Colorado, but they didn't file with the IRS to get tax exempt status. So, that came as a bit of a shock to contriubtors who didn't get a tax benefit from donating.

Depends on if you are actually a 501 c 3 or not.

if you are one, then you won't be paying taxes

if you aren't one, then you will be paying taxes
