Lost tax papers

My wife and i have not filled our taxes for a few years and we have lost our w2 forms is there a way to get those from the goverment the buisness we worked for has closed and left we can not find them to ask for copies

I would start at the IRS and see if they have copies. Because in theory the business should be sending those to them or at least the info that is on them.

You can contact your former employers as they have to keep them on record for 7 years. It's usually much faster than getting them from the IRS.
