As of July 08 it went to 58.5 cents a mile Business Mileage Driven.
Beginning on Jan. 1, 2010, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car will be:
50 cents per mile for business miles driven
Why'd they do that, gas has jumped back up this month!
They use an average based on the previous year ... remember, they have to post this and get it printed into publications as early as November of the preceeding year.
If gas prices change too drastically, they will do a mid-year correction.
