Attaching HD tuner to analog TV with in-house antenna

Is it possible to connect a samsung box-top hd tuner to an analog tv that currently pulls in broadcast signals via rabbit ear antenna? We live in a metropolitan area and many of the stations broadcast in HD. Our TV is in great shape and would rather just hook up an external hd tuner rather than buy a whole new tv (which we don't need and don't want to spend our savings on). Any help on if this is even possible and what cord/hookups are needed to accomplish this.

Yeah, you can. you just need to go to target or somewhere, and buy a box that will let you hook up a signal to an old tv. I just bought one and it works great.

it is called an RF modulator Kit and runs for $18

Ya, you can. you just need to get the right wires to hook it up. if you need a box that has the red white yellow av audio video thing, you can go to target and buy a box that lets you plug in that type of cable into an older tv that only has coax hookups

Ya, you should be able too. at least until the networks go all digital.
