Blu Ray or HD-DVD? which do you prefer?

The next gen dvd format wars have been going on for a while now.

Which format do you prefer? which one do you want to win?

There are pros and cons to each. However my thoughts have always been for Blu Ray because of Microsoft is behind HD-DVD (down with Microsoft lol).

Also, it has helped that Blu Ray has lined up 75% of Hollywood and scored deals with Best Buy and exclusive deal with Target and also with Wal Mart to distrubte Blu Ray titles.

And having the cheap Blu Ray player in the form of the Playstation 3 doesn't hurt either.

I think blu ray will take it too. They are moving out in the lead with titles coming out.

I feel sorry for the early adopters of the HD-DVD format.

Who else has any of the those old Betamax tapes laying around. People will say the same thing about HD-DVD discs and players.

You might as well stick with Blu-Ray. HD-DVD is over.

Toshiba said it will no longer manufacture HD DVDs, effectively ending the long-running battle with the rival Blu-ray for a dominant high-definition format. Toshiba said it made the decision to cease developing, manufacturing, and marketing HD DVDs after "recent major changes in the market."

Toshiba's HD DVD business has been suffering recently with a string of major retailers and rental companies announcing their preference for Blu-ray, developed by Sony.

Wal-Mart and online rental company Netflix said they would abandon HD in favor of Blu-ray. Warner Brothers Home Entertainment -- which had been the largest media company releasing videos in both formats -- announced it would offer DVDs solely in Blu-ray.

Sony's Blu-ray is backed by Disney, 20th Century Fox, MGM, Dell, Panasonic, and Philips.

Plus, when is the last time you saw an ad on tv for HD-DVD?

HD DVD has been discontinued so Blu-Ray is the way to go.
