Is the computer broken or just the USB ports? If its the whole computer you may have fried the motherboard with the ornament. In that case, you can pull the hard drive and put it in another box to get the data. If its just the USB ports and the box works otherwise, you can get an expansion card with USB ports that should work instead of the onboard ones. That is assuming the eMachine can take an expansion PCI card. If you don't understand any of this, go to Best Buy or similar and ask someone.
