Compaq Presario F700 stuck logging off

The laptop is "stuck" with the words "logging off" displayed on the Windoes Vista Home Premium blue page. No keyboard action changes this. Any ideas?

Force a hard reset un plug power supply and disconect battery give it a min or so reinstall batt and turn it on
