How do you repair cd-rom driver which the computer shows is damaged?

Go to start, control panel, system, device manager, select your CD-rom from the list, delete. Now scan for hardware changes, your computer will look for device driver for you cd-rom and install it. If your computer still tells you that the driver is damaged, go online and try to find an updated driver for your cd-rom. There are plenty of websites that offer drivers for free.
