What OS are you using? Vista or XP? Also do you have to login to the machine, and, if so, do you have administrator rights? May want to try and un-install and then re-install the software too.

Error 1402
I am having a problem with Adobe Reader 7.0. I cannot delete it or update it. When I try I get "Error 1402. Could not open key: Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\CLSID\{V523F39F-9C83-11D3-9094-001 04BD0D535}\Programmable. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key.

I have xp, I do have administrative rights and I cannot delete or reload the program.
