How do I correct a connection problem between my laptop and wireless router (Belkin f5d7010 adapter card and Belkin G router)?

Everything appears to be loaded properly. The wireless networking utility keeps telling me that there is limited or no connectivity. I have spoken with Belkin on three different technical support calls and they have been useless. The latest suggested that I disable all firewalls on the network and then to connect and enable the firewalls after the connection has been made, of course this did not work either. I have also reloaded the software several times same results. I currently have another laptop that can connect so I know the network is working.

Belkin f5d7010 adapter card gets some good reviews , are you useing the same card in the other lappie or dose it have a built in wireless roamer , i fine that built i roamer do a lot better ,
try moving the router to a higher position , maybe mounting it on the wall , it could be the position of the lappie some times i can move mine 1/2 inch and go from a poor signal to excellent ,
it could be something in the lappie its self causing the problem
get back with me and ill try to help

My other laptop has a built in roamer. The signal is very strong (four bars). I have tried the repositioning of the router and nothing changes. I have been trying all the solutions right in the same room with the router ( approximately two to four feet away.) Please continue with your assistance in this issue, I sincerely appreciate any suggestions that you might have.

When I run into that problem I right click on the network icon and then hit repair. This assigns a new IP address and fixes the problem. good luck!

Actually, I have encountered software conflicts when the OEM software from Linkysys, Belkin, etc. is running at the same time as the Windows Wireles Zero Configuration.

My suggestion is to get the router up and running, as it already is, record any encryption codes needed if the router is Wireless-N with WEP, or WPA encryption, and then uninstall all the Belkin software on BOTH machines. After uninstallation of the software is complete, shut down both computers.

Unplug the modem and router for a full minute, and plug the modem, and then the router in.

Restart the desktop that the router is assigned to, and then the laptop.

Enter the encryption code if necessary, and try to access the network with the laptop.

Let us know how this works out.

I have often found that both the factory and Windows software are unable to run at the same time. They often conflict with eachother, and Windows is "torn" as to what to do.

OK, let's move on from there.

Since you are posting, I hope you have a solid wired connection to work with. That is, without the router, you have a solid wired connection to your ISP. I believe you said this issue was with just one laptop.

Have you updated the firmware for your router recently?

And do you have the latest software/driver installed for your wireless card?

Frequently with a router, this can resolve the issue you are having.

Give it a shot, and post back.

Well at this point, we must focus on the laptop, since the all possibilities of the router conflicting with the laptop in question have been eliminated.

I will wager they have had you open Network Connections on the laptop, left click on the wireless connection icon, and click Repair.

If not, give that a shot.

By the way, do you have any Belkin software running on the laptop?
