I have sony xbr is this tv hd and or hdtv ready with hd box?

I have sony 61 inch xbr. is this tv hd and or hdtv ready? i believe i need new cable box last one was given to me 5yrs ago.

The Sony XBR is a plasma TV, and no it is not HD ready. You will need an HD receiver.

You still will need to subscribe to a HDTV feed in order to use the full HDTV abilities of your tv.

Yea, you should be HDTV ready, but that is different then having an HDTV feed.

you will need to call your cable or dish provider and tell them that you want HDTV channels, which will cost you more per month and you will probably need a new cable box.
