Real Player vs. Media Player

What is the difference between Media Player and Real Player? I have a laptop Windows XP. Wireless. A Dell. I have to use a cell phone to connect to the internet because the internet card configuration was funny (different). I see an icon on my laptop that says "Media Player. I don't see Real Player. What do these do? How does this help me to do what? Again I do have Media Player as one of my icons on my laptop. Thanks!

It all depends on what you want to use it for , i have several different media plays on my P C's
Here is a link that will give you some insight on media players >>>>
The Icon on your desktop is only a short cut to your media player , look in programs for other media players to see if you have any others , windows media player comes allready installed on windows operating systems, if you want others you will have to download and install them
