If you found out that your internet usage was closely monitored would you cancel your internet service?

If every one found out about the same time and canceled their service how devastating would it be to the economy? Should there be a law prohibiting the recording and monitoring of sensitive data?

I personally would not cancel my internet service. I'm pretty boring - I don't have anything to hide. Email, facebook, youtube, & photoshop blogs are about it for me. So someone watching that wouldn't bother me. However, I do think its an invasion of privacy for the most part and I could see other people being upset by it. There are laws in place already protecting people from having this type of data recorded for general use, but it is always accessible by law enforcement or the government if they have a need to know what a person is looking at. It seems unfair, but wouldn't you want the government to know if your neighbor was googling ways to terrorize the country?

If your internet usage is being closely monitored, its time to move out of your mom's basement and get your own.
