Status of Standard definition TV ?

Will my old Standard definition TV operate? Will I have to purchase adapters at some point?

While it is true that the move to High Def is gradually happening, It's unlikely that you will have to purchase adaptors any time soon.

I have heard somewhere that they wanted to move soley to hdtv by 2010 but many people still have old sets. By the time you would need to purchse any type of adapter it would probably be time for you to get a new tv anyway. :)

The truth is that in February of 2009 they will not broadcast the same signal as they do today. You can retain your TV set, but you will need to purchase an adapter. i would suggest buying a HDTV, you will get the benefits of HDTV and avoid the charge of the adapter box.
