I'm not sure if it is broadcast in 1080p, check out the last post on this thread

the HD part of Verizon Fios would compare with any other HD feed from cable or satalite.

The http://www.verizon.com site doesn't say exactly what it is broadcast in, but it does broadcast in HD on some channels.

Yes. You can experience the picture quality of HDTV with Verizon FiOS TV if you have a High Definition TV and either the High Definition or the DVR Set Top Box. We currently offer an extensive lineup of local, national and premium HD programming, and we will continue to expand our HD channel lineup as new content becomes available.

True HD is 1080. If you get the HD Channels it should be 1080.

True HD is 1080i, which is basically considered standard HD that DirectTV, Charter and other cable company's offer. HD 1080p is an uncompressed format of HD with is FULL HD, it is basically what a Blue Ray quality would look like. Company's like Dish Network offer Turbo HD (1080p) and FIOS (Verizon).
