How do I record my voice on my laptop? I am not understanding the audacity instructions. I can't even tell if my microphone is working?

First start by testing your Microphone. Click on your start menu and open your control pannel. In your control Pannel scroll down till you see the Sounds and audio devices then click the voice tab. In the Voice screen you sill see a test hardware button. That will open a wizzard that you just need to follow directions through.
