I'd say that http://www.google.com and their 4+ Billion in cash would be the center of the universe.

Between search, AdWords and AdSense, you can't go wrong.

So my answer is http://www.google.com

Yahoo!? Not a chance. And not http://www.ask.com or http://www.msn.com or http://www.live.com either.

http://www.google.com is the center of the internet universe.

At the center of the Internet is a cluster of 100 networks operated by massive corporations like ATT Worldnet and Google.

The internet is so interesting because it just changes so fast. Look at MySpace and Facebook. MySpace is on top of the world and has a huge network of people. But businesses started to realize that the Tweens that use MySpace religiously would grow up and want something a little more professional liked LinkedIn, but still have the social aspect of MySpace. Thus all the energy that businesses are putting into developing things for Facebook. It's like a grown-up MySpace, as it was originally built and unitized as a platfrom for college students.

It's hard to say what everyone has in mind for the future but there are a few things that you can count on for sure. First, the web will be drastically different November 20th, 2008 than it is today and that Google will be setting the standard at least for a while. They are branching out into markets like cell phones (thank God) and their ideas and technologies will change the world forever. As much as I hate to admit it - I am wearing the Google t-shirt, cheering them on for their innovations and hoping they really will take over the world... ha ha ha!

With all seriousness, the Internet was a collection of military comptuer systems that worked together. When the Internet expanded, it became 'decentralized' and there is no true center. If you, for example are going to a yahoo.com you are using the comptuter systems that Yahoo manages, but they can be, and are, everywhere.
