Aww well congrats on her become a woman so to speak. I'd get her on a multi vitamin and make sure she doesn't have iron defiencies. Gettting your period for the first time is tramatic and she may not be feeling well enough to eat. so keep her hydrated and give her plenty of options. Sometimes During that time of month I always feel full, and I don't eat as much, probably water rentention.
You may want to discuss with her how she is feeling. Some women have it worse than other and given that she isn't used to it she may not know what is going on. Advil, Aleve, midal, can help with cramps. And heat works wonders on the stomach for cramps. Keeping a bottle of meds by her bed and a heading pad along with some water can help her get though the night. If she is cramping bad at night.
Uhh the first day is the worse.
