TIRED this is really difficult as you can't watch over your boys 24/7.

All you really can do, probably what you have been doing, is speak to them over and over about the importance of abstinence. Let your boys know what it's going to cost them to have sex with one of those girls: For one thing, it would be harder to get into college as baby would be a huge distraction from basketball.

Your boys must really respect you since you have such an open dialog with them, that's great. Sounds like they listen to you.

I'm in agreement with prime. Having an open dialog open with your boys about sex, and how there is virtues on waiting to have sex and not to rush it.

You can't really control those girls and them wanting sex. The best you can do is help your boys understand that it is to soon to be having sex.

But it can be hard when sex is everywhere in the media, and it seems kids are having sex at an earlier age then ever before.

I agree with sidelko, and primetime.
I deal with teenagers on a daily basis! Its absolutley not true that ALL kids want to hear what their parents have to say about sex, but some kids do appreciate knowing what their parents opinions are. Some teens are rebellious, and they could care less about anyones opinions but their own. Some teens respect and value everyones opinions, including their owns. And, then there are teens who are somewhat in between those two categorys.

Please, keep in mind Tired that most of what these girls are saying is ALL TALK. It's terribly common for boys and girls alike to make up stories and say things that will make them seem more "experienced" or "cool". What you need to enstil in your children is that you don't need to have sex in order to be accepted! Usually the teens who give in to sex are the ones with a low self-esteem. If your sons are confident in themselves I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.
