It is the MAPLE LEAF. The maple leaf was first adopted by St John the Baptist sociery in Quebec in 1844. On the first British Royalk visit by Great Britain's then Prince of Wales in August 1860, it was decided that Canadians among the cheering crowds should wear a maple leaf, and it was put on the new Canadian flag 50 years later as the emblem of Canada.
