The answer really depends on which area of India you are talking about. I lived in India for three years and experienced a variety of climates. In the very northern part of India, such as Jammu Kashmir, the climate is fairly dry and very cold in the winter with a lot of snow. In the area of New Delhi, which is located in what Indians call "the plains", is very hot and humid in the summer and bitterly cold and foggy in the winter. On the west coast near Goa, you have a very tropical climate most of the year. On the east coast near Kolkata, it is very humid in the summer, but can be quite cool up in the hill stations. In the very south, it is so very hot and humid. India truly has every kind of climate you could want.
